Issues & Solutions

A BETTER QUALITY OF LIFE FOR DETROITERS

Detroit should be a place where businesses succeed—not struggle. With the right leadership, we will be the most competitive business city in the Midwest.

  • $500M Detroit Business Growth Fund – A public-private fund that will provide low-interest loans, grants, and capital for Detroit businesses that hire locally, commit long-term, and reinvest in our communities. We will give Detroit businesses the tools they need to compete and win.

  • Smart Tax Incentives for Businesses – Phased-in tax reductions, revenue-based tax credits, and payroll tax relief for companies that create Detroit-based jobs and invest in workforce training. If you invest in Detroiters, Detroit will invest in you.

  • One-Stop Business Center – Detroit businesses struggle with bureaucracy—so we’ll eliminate red tape with a streamlined system for business permits, licensing, and city approvals. No more waiting months for paperwork—let’s get businesses open and thriving.

  • Major Infrastructure Investments – We will support business growth with AI-powered logistics, an EV public transit system, and commercial real estate revitalization. When businesses have world-class infrastructure, they stay, grow, and hire more Detroiters.

Detroiters want to work—and we will make sure they have access to the opportunities they deserve.

  • Industry-Specific Training & Career Pathways – We will launch workforce development programs tailored to high-growth sectors like advanced manufacturing, EV technology, and tech industries. Detroiters deserve more than just jobs—they deserve careers.

  • AI-Powered Career Matching & Skills Development – A digital platform that connects Detroiters with job opportunities based on their skills, experience, and career goals. Finding the right job shouldn’t be a challenge—it should be a guarantee.

  • Year-Round Youth Employment – Expanding beyond summer jobs, we will create continuous employment and apprenticeship programs for young Detroiters to prepare them for the workforce early. Every Detroit student should graduate with real work experience and a pathway to a career.

  • Subsidized Transportation for WorkersNo one should miss out on a job opportunity because they can’t afford the commute. We will provide low-cost transit passes and mobility hubs to connect Detroiters with workplaces across the city.

A stronger Detroit starts with stable housing. We will make sure every Detroiter has access to a safe, affordable place to call home.

  • Expanding Affordable Housing & Mixed-Income Developments – We will work with developers to create housing that is accessible for all income levels, ensuring that new construction benefits Detroiters—not just outside investors.

  • Employer-Assisted Housing Programs – Businesses will be encouraged to offer down payment assistance, rent support, and housing stipends to employees who live near their workplaces. If you work in Detroit, you should be able to afford to live in Detroit.

  • First-Time Homebuyer Assistance – We will launch zero or low-interest loan programs and provide financial education on homeownership, so more Detroiters can buy homes and build generational wealth. Owning a home should be an achievable dream—not an impossible one.

  • Neighborhood Revitalization Grants – Direct funding for home repairs, storefront improvements, and community beautification projects, ensuring that our neighborhoods stay vibrant, safe, and thriving.

  • Preventing Homelessness & Providing Housing Support – We will expand emergency rent assistance, rapid rehousing programs, and supportive housing for vulnerable residents to ensure no Detroiter is left without a home.
